The Position The ideal candidate will be able to successfully design a fiber to the home network (FTTH) from Feeder to Distribution. Candidates will partner with Program Managers, Project Coordinators, Internal Team Members, and Customers within a team-based setting; executing on delivery for projects both in Aerial and Buried Plant. Responsibilities

• Coordinate work activities with Project Managers / Project Coordinators

• Design High level concept plans associated to Fiber to The Home (FTTH), both Aerial and Buried Plant

• Provide drawings and details in both CAD based platforms and other media to determine and display design criteria

• Incorporate field and as-built revisions from draft prints to system database

• Communicates with the Project Coordinator, internal team members, and customers to gather accurate information with regards to construction design.

• Determine best design method as per cost, constructability, quality, meeting project standards.

• Import AutoCAD, TIF or other file formats and hard copy maps to create electronic base maps

• Accountable for controlled cost, quality, and operational efficiencies for assigned projects.

• Interface with internal and external clients for delivery targets, and project requirements;

• Attend site meetings for Design investigations, and /or with clients as per Project Coordinator scheduling,

• Timely, accurate, detailed updates to Project Coordinator on all aspects of assigned projects

• Adhere to strict project budgets and client deliverable dates

• Maintain Quality, Cost, and Operational Efficiencies as per budget project

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year experience with Fiber to the Home (FTTH) designs, in Aerial and Buried Plant.
• Provide drawings and details in both CAD based platforms and other media to determine and display design criteria
• Incorporate field and as-built revisions from draft prints to system database
• Communicates with the Project Coordinator, internal team members, and customers to gather accurate information with regards to construction design
• Determine best design method as per cost, constructability, quality, meeting project standards
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• The ability to deal with multiple projects and conflicting deadlines.
• Valid G license and clean driving abstract
• Working, reliable vehicle, periodic travel is required as part of the position

• Ability to understand and interpret technical data, plans, reports, engineering drawings and safety requirements
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to document construction site activities with field progress reports
• Ability to train and mentor others in the work

• Extensive travel in Ontario, requiring overnight stays is required

The Location Planview Utility Services has 3 offices – Markham, London and Ottawa. Our clients and their projects are based throughout the province. Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

• Telecom Cable Design: 1 year (required)
